When it comes to accounting software QuickBooks is king. I have used a version of QuickBooks Pro since 2004 and recommend it to all my clients. While there is an online version, I prefer the Pro version since there is a one-time payment only and no monthly subscription costs. Moreover, you can use the software for many years before needing to upgrade.
I have set up and used Constant Contact for several organizations. They are the clear leader in the email marketing space and support is great. I recommend Constant Contact to anyone that does e-commerce and collects email addresses as part of their sales funnel.
You can sign up for a FREE 60-day trial and with my affiliation with SCORE, I can get you up to a 25% off your paid subscription if you send me an email to Steve@SteveBizBlog.com to request a discount.
I have used HostMonster for the past 15 years and love them. When it comes to hosting your website I highly recommend them. They have great tech support (US based), provide tons of free tools including WordPress and video tutorials, and provide unlimited emails and storage all for under $5 per month. Can’t beat it.
When it comes to buying hardware or software for my PC I love the expertise the floor folks have at BestBuy. They are my go-to source for my computer and software needs.
While I use a remote IT professional, he highly recommended that I protect my home office PC with Kaspersky Anti Virus. Before Kaspersky I had another brand but had a virus get through. Since installing Kaspersky I have had no issues on my PC.
When it comes to editing images I have used and recommend Corel PaintShop Pro for over a decade. Very easy to use and very powerful.
Video is hot these days and every small business needs a way to edit video. I have used Corel VideoStudio for many years now and recommend it to any business owner wanting an intuative yet powerful platform to edit videos.
